I need to create hollow rectangular blocks, each of which is about 4" x 4" x 5". Wall thickness of about 1/2". Each of the 6 faces of the blocks would have through holes of approx. 1" diameter. I can probably fabricate these of plywood, but for various reasons I am intrigued with using a casting technique. I am thinking of making a mold to make wax plugs in the shape of the hollow core, and then a second mold to cast resin or urethane around the wax plug.
